Intereior screws are exposed
Both knobs locked/unlocked by push button inside
Can be unlocked from outside with emergency key.
Turning inside knob unlocks outside
Adjustable Backset 2-3/8" or 2-3/4"
Unit is non handed and is field reversible.
Faceplates (Part 16-080): Supplied with 1/4" Round Corner and Drive-In Faceplates

Love it very nice door set. June 2, 2011

i purchased new handles because we added on and i wanted to update all the doors and get rid of brass and hopefully get a handle that isn't so noisey, the handles look good, but these are noisey too. i can't stand to hear the creak of a door knob when we are trying to be quiet. January 10, 2011

Good product I couldn't find the handles in the stores that were brass on one side and chrome on the other. I called and the rep was very helpful - even going to the warehouse and making sure it was what I wanted. September 17, 2010

38% failure rate 3 of the 8 knobs of this style failed to install. threads were stripped in the knobs and tightening bolts would not engage. returned to big box store to switch out parts so i could complete installation. annoying flaw from a respected brand September 5, 2010

Nice look and quality The only thing I would change about doorknobs made these days is to not have a little lock button, but a push in and turn locking mechanism so that little hands can't lock doors so easily! This is a great knob that is good quality and had a nice finish for a decent price. Handlesets was quick, with no problems at all. My order was perfect. August 25, 2009

Easy Purchase! I needed a Schlage handleset with polished brass on one side and chrome on the other (for the bathroom). The big box stores did not carry it. I went online and found HandleSets and ordered it in just a few minutes. Delivery was prompt. Easy! Today I will look for a new front entry set. May 23, 2009

Does the Georgian have a passage door knob or only the privacy?

The Georgian passage knob is the F10-GEO.

I ordered this same knob from another company in flat black. Is that the same at the matte black that's listed here?

The flat black must be the same as the matte black we offer because according to Schlages website matte black is the only form of black offered for this product

pin hole on the outside for emergency openings. how?

The Schlage F40-GEO privacy door knob set has a small hole for a push pin that can be inserted from the outside to unlock in in case of emergency. This pin that is inserted for emergencies is called an "Emergency Pin" and is included in the order for any Schlage privacy knob or lever.

Can I use this on a 1-1/8" thick door?

The Schlage F40-GEO will not work with that door thickness.

What diameter are the door knobs?

The Schlage F40-GEO has a diameter of 2 3/16"

Are the screws exposed?

The Schlage F40-GEO does not have exposed screws.

Can you request square backsets?

The Schlage F40-GEO would have both sets of plates included.

Does the Georgian line include a passage knob or only the privacy?

The Georgian passage knob would be the F10-GEO.

Is there a special tool for emergency privacy lock?

Yes, this item does include privacy pin keys that will release the privacy lock if needed. They are not like regular keys. The pin will fit in the pin hole on the exterior knob.

What is the max door thickness these lock sets can be used on?

The Schlage F40-GEO can be used on doors with a thickness of up to 1-3/4"

When selecting a satin nickel x polished chrome knob which color will have the lock?

The satin nickel would be on the outside knob and the polished chrome would be on the inside with the lock on it.
