Plymouth Privacy Lock Door Knob Set 4.6 5 12 16

Easy to install I recently replaced an entire houseful of polished brass doorknobs with this line of aged bronze knobs. I have never replaced a doorknob before, but I was able to figure out how to do it without any trouble, which is a testimony to the simplicity of the design. In fact, once I figured out what I was doing, I was able to remove an old knob and replace it with one of these in under five minutes. The knobs have a solid, quality feel and operate smoothly. They are attractive, and made my whole house look so much less dated. Finally, Handlesets.com was a pleasure to work with. I ordered the wrong set of deadbolts (not understanding the difference between single and double cylinder), and Handlesets.com made the exchange process extremely quick and painless. When I called, the customer service representative I spoke to gave me his direct extension and remembered who I was each time I called. It was a pleasure working with him and I would absolutely do business with Handlesets.com again. April 20, 2011

I like the Plymoth style Knobset I tried two other brands and found they didn't work as well as the Schlage Brand of knobset. Plymouth style from schlage fits the hand better than two other brands I tried . Back of knob is farther from the rose alowing small and large hands to grip better. Locking mechanism on the privacy knob is in the center making it easy to control but did not get in the way of the grip. June 15, 2010

Great Purchase I needed a privacy doorknob set with satin nickel for the inside for my bathroom, and polished brass on the outside to match the other doorknobs in my hallway. I could not find a set like this in my local home improvement stores that had once carried them, because they said there was not a high demand for them so they no longer stocked them. The privacy doorknob came in great condition, was easy to install, great quality and finish. On top of it,the set was shipped and delivered to my home much quicker than expected. Very Happy! Just What I Wanted Tried to get this product at all the home stores, but was told I had to special order and wait 6 weeks. Have a 85 year old colonial and found it impossible to replace the original Schlage locks, which was my first option. These lock sets came very close to the style of the original locksets found in the house. The split finish was a perfect match. My only suggestion is that I would like to have been able to select a different rosette (matte black). Some flat black paint fixed that problem for me. Horrible finish The finish on this product was horrendous. We have oil-rubbed bronze products in several bathrooms, from several manufacturers. This one matched none of them, looked like a kid painted it brown. May 19, 2009

Is this the same style as the F10-PLY?

A. Yes, this is the same style at the F10-PLY. The only difference is the function. This has a privacy lock and the F10-PLY does not lock.

On the mixed finish units such as Polished Chrome + Brushed Chrome, which side is which. I need the lock side to be the polished side.

The photo does not show a hole, where the knob can be unlocked by inserting a small screwdriver, skewer or other device. Does this knob have that small hole for this function? Also want to double check that the locking device is push button.

A. The Schlage F40-PLY does have a small hole to unlock the door in an emergency. In Addition, the door does use a push button on the inside knob.

Can they be ordered in Black + any chrome or silver

A. The Schlage F40-PLY can be split finished for interior and exterior. They do have a matte black finish and a variety of chromes.

Can you tell me the diameter of the door covered by the plate? I need a knob which covers 2.75, not the 2.5 which many brands have gone to.

A. The Schlage F40-PLY has a 2-1/8" diameter rosette.
