Easy purchase, easy install...
Easy to install. Ordered numbered lock, and all the old keys worked without hassle. Basic lock, but operates perfectly.

Good lock
Good lock though I wish I would have gotten the non panic-proof version. Having the inside knob always turnable sometimes tricks you into thinking the door isn't locked and behold, you close the door behind you and it's locked. If you get this knob don't forget to either always check the outside knob for being locked instead of the inside one or just simply immediately put a spare key outside your house somewhere.

Don't buy this one!
I wish I had not purchased these to go on our entry/exit doors!
Could have lived with just the new deadbolt, and a passage door knob. We put these on the doors at our weekend place. My husband was locked out the first morning that we had them. Then... I was locked out. Had to call locksmith to the tune of $100! She said that these Schlage doorknobs are NOTORIOUS for the lever tripping by itself, and locking the homeowner out! Skip this one!!!!

Good Knob for General Use
Feels and looks sturdy and classy at the same time. Would not recommend it as the primary lock on a dwelling door, however it works just fine for the storage area in my shared garage.

A very good value
I purchased this lockset for a new storageroom about a year after purchasing new locksets and deadbolts for the balance of my house. I wanted to match both the style, color and keying and it was so easy to order it correctly.

What is "panic proof"? I searched Schlage.com and couldn't find any information about what panic proof means and how it is different than a regular keyed door.
Thank you for your inquiry. Panic proof allows a hasty exit of a room without first having to unlock the handleset. This is required by some local fire codes. With a regular lockset, you would first need to unlock the handleset before exiting the room. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Thank you.
can i key 2 keyed entry knobs & 2 deadbolts the same (3 x) 6 knobs, 6 deadbolts total with a master key?
The Schlage F51-GEO is yes you can get them keyed alike...you just have to make sure to choose the keyed alike option before you add the item into the shopping cart.
can you disable the panic feature on these locks? If so, these would be the locks for me.
The Schlage F51-GEO panic proof feature cannot be disabled. The F54-GEO will be the model that does not have the panic proof feature.

The specs and instructions indicate a 7/8" edge bore. Could these knobs be used in an exiting door with 1" edge bore?
The Schlage F51-GEO is for a 7/8" edge bore, I would not recommend using them with a 1" edge bore.
can you master key 40 of these and still ship 1 to 2 days
The Schlage F51-GEO with 40 keyed different but master keyed would ship in 7-10 business days.
How do you re-key this lock? There is no hole for the push pin to inserted to re-key the lock.
The Schlage F51-GEO is not a Smart-key cylinder that can be rekeyed with a pin or tool. To rekey it, you will need to contact a professional locksmith to reset the cylinder and rekey your lock.
I need a entry door lock with 5" backset
The knobs are sold with a 2 3/4" or a 2 3/8" back set. Some are able to operate with a 5" back set, but you do have to buy the extension part separately. For a 2 3/4" backset you would need the 43-005. For a 2 3/8" backset you would need the 41-005. Both parts can be found on our site.
Is there an adjustment that will UNLOCK the outside when you turn the inside knob of a panic proof door lock?
The Schlage F51-GEO will not have a feature that unlocks the outside knob when the inside knob is turned. The outside knob will stay fixed until it is unlocked with the key or by turning the lock on the inside knob.
Is this a solid brass keyed entry?
The Schlage F51-GEO is wrought brass. They are zinc based, plated to match the finishes indicated.
