Looks Great We put this on our front door and it looks great. The shape of it coincides with the design in the glass of our front door. You need the key to lock it when leaving the house. June 12, 2010

If the deadlbolt is latched and you want to open the door from the inside, do you need to separately unlatch it and then turn the door handle, or does turning the door handle automatically unlatch the deadbolt (like some of the Baldwin Brass units)? thank you.

The deadbolt and the latch are not interlocked. You would need to manually unlock the deadbolt first.

Is the FA358 a deadbolt lock? Also, what are the dimensions of the handleset inside and out?

The Schlage FA358-VEN does use a single cylinder deadbolt.

Do I need an interior pack with this unit?

how to determine Left or Right hand type lock. We have two front doors, one for lock, the other for "dummy". Looking at the outside, the lockable door is on our left, the dummy is on the right.

From the description you provided I would say you have a Left Hand type lock. Hope this helps!
