Alignment is the key! The handle was the matching component to the digital lock that was already on my "want" list. The lock was installed first followed by the handle. The handle was very easy to install but I really didn't do much more than shove everything into place and close the door. A couple of days later, the latch would get hung inside the latching mechanism when the door was opened from the outside. It took a little digging, but I finally found a Q&A section on the Schlage website that had the answer. My handle was not well aligned with the latch inside the door and was binding. A simple readjustment of the handle and everything was happy again. I will say that I am more impressed with the lock than I was the handle. When you open the door from the outside using the the thumb push, it does not feel very smooth, or at least as smoothe as I think a door handle of this quality and price should feel. I replaced a QuickSet lock and handle with this Schlage because the old handle did not weather well over time. That being said, the operation of the old handle was smoother than the new one. Just a little food for thought. April 20, 2011

Disappointed Looks nice and sturdy upon opening the package, but a week later the interior lever comes off in my hand when I open the door! October 16, 2010

Nice handleset, but template was wrong Easy install ... after I learned (too late) not to use the template for the placement of the lower hole. Now I have to patch that extra hole (was about 2" too high). I would recommend this handleset, but advise purchaser to sight-locate the position for the lower hole. April 29, 2010

Just what I needed I already had the electronic dead bolt, and needed the handleset to match. After some Web searching, I found this one at the best price, which was very reasonable compared to others. It's beautiful on my door, and works well. October 27, 2009

Lockset Iwas very happy with the product. My only complaint would be that they asked for a key code to match your other locks and it did not match the other locks! May 8, 2008

If the door opens to the left, is Left Handle correct?

The handing refers to whatever side the hinges are on if you are walking up to the door from the outside. If the hinges are on the left (from the outside) it is a left handed door.
