disappointing
These are beautiful wall sconces that we purchased for the front porches of our home just built on the coast. After only 3-4 weeks these already show signs of corrosion. I spoke with a customer service rep from Lighting Direct who was extremely helpful and called Sea Gull Lighting while I was still on the phone with her. The comment was 'these are not intended to be used near salt water'. Based on the style of the product, the descriptive name of the product, it seems to have a 'coastal' theme. The Lighting Direct rep pointed out to Sea gull Lighting rep that nowhere in the specifications from their company is there any mention of this. I haven't been contacted yet by Sea Gull lighting, I'm sure (hope) they will stand by their product (one year warranty on the product). I really like the looks of these so I am disappointed that they aren't holding up. I would recommend these, but obviously not if your home is near salt water

Good design good value
We bought several of these fixtures 5 years ago with our remodel. Just added one more. We really like the design, and they are a good value too.

Ask it here This fixture looks like you can slide up and down..are you able to do that with this one?How does the copper finish hold up in a seaside location? Does the warranty cover the finish?How much space is there between the backplate and the shade rim? We are looking for something that will extend out over some trim on the porch wall.Could I use this light in a bathroom?What is the diameter of the backplate?How thick is the wall plate? I need to know the distance between the back of the plate to the shade to extend over some stone on our porch?Technical Specs
