As beautiful as it looks, but dimmer than expected After much consideration, we chose two of the smaller Sonneman pucks as hallway lighting to blend with our mid-century decor. The size turns out to be perfect for our spaces, and the proportions and brushed nickel finish make them look like they could be used in a modern art museum. However, prospective buyers should be aware that the glass diffuser on these fixtures blocks a great deal of light. Three 60-watt equivalent CFLs are barely enough to light a small hallway, and we may end up putting 100-watt equivalents in them for more light. (The fixtures are limited to three 60-watt bulbs, but that's for incandescent bulbs; three 100-watt equivalent CFLs would be about 75 watts in total).I've attached a photo showing one of the lights lighting a hallway. Note that it was dim enough that the flash actually fired! Bottom line: they're beautiful, but don't buy them if you need a lot of light. November 20, 2010
