36" Wood Vanity Cabinet from the Barton Hill Collection
Looks Custom for a Fraction of the Cost
This is a beautiful piece from afar. However, the quality is just "ok." When you really look at it close, the drawers don't glide in and out very smoothly. They are kind of clunky when you open/close them. The back is entirely open, which I suppose is nice for installation, but to me, it makes it seem all the more cheap. I don't like the handles for the center cabinets. The holes are pre-drilled in the CENTER of the cabinet doors, and they come with handles that look like bull nose rings. I tried swapping with knobs that I already had and realized that it's awkward to open with knobs and it actually works better with the rings. During installation of my countertop and sink, the installer damaged my vanity, so it makes me wonder if it is easily scratched. Luckily it is on the inside, so no one will notice. The finish is supposed to be distressed, but really, only a very little bit of the edges has been sanded down. I didn't realize that there were self-leveling screws that were supposed to be screwed into the base of the vanity BEFORE installation. Whoopsie. Luckily, it was even. So from a distance, it looks gorgeous, but when you get up close, you can see a few flaws in the quality. You get what you pay for. Depends on what you're looking for. I was on a budget, so I couldn't splurge for custom cabinetry. Came off the truck completely wrapped in plastic. The truck left the pallet it came on. Pleased with the delivery process.
