Product Details for the Sunpentown SR-964T7 Setting Micro Induction Cooktop with Micro Crystal Ceramic Plate and 13 Keep Warm SettingsMicro-Induction Cooktop provides the best in cooktop performance, safety and efficiency. Induction heats as electricity flows through a coil to produce a magnetic field under the ceramic plate. When a ferromagnetic cookware is placed on the ceramic surface, currents are induced in the cookware and instant heat is generated due to the resistance of the pan. Heat is generated to the pan only and no heat is lost. As there are no open flames, inductions are safer to use than conventional burners. Once cookware is removed, all molecular activity ceases and heating is stopped immediately. Features:

Like the cooktop
Have been pleased with the induction cooktop. Heats instantly (have to be careful at first when used to regular burner top cooking). Only complaint is that the surface shows a slight circle from pans - will not cpmpletely disappear when cleaned. Kind of like a stain.

Ask it here Can you use other pans on the cooktop besides the ferromagnetic ones?Does induction cookware work with only metal cookware? What is ferromagnetic cookwareA. It is the use of a cast-iron or enameled cast iron. Most stainless steel will work, but bring a magnet with you to the store, if the magnet sticks, it will work on your cook-top. In general a thicker steel pan will be better than a thinner steel pan. Technical Specs
