good quality requires a flat surface for mounting (as opposed to a circular plate -- you'll have to build a little frame for the edges in that case.) rich looking. better than anything you're going to find at Lowe's or home Depot. December 13, 2010

GO 9801 Beautiful and well made product. We are completing a massive renovation and these lamps provided the perfect finishing touch to our conemporary home. Took a little longer to reach us than I expected, but we ordered 10; probably a larger order than most. December 16, 2007

How do you replace the bulb? Can you reach in from the bottom or do you have to replace the shade? If you have to replace the shade, do you need to provide space above the fixture to lift the shade? If so-how much?

A. The The Great Outdoors GO 9801 is open on the bottom and the bulb can be changed from there. You should not need to remove the shade in order to change the bulb. Thank you for your question.

Is the fixture transluscent at the top and bottom?
