Is this firepit a natural gas unit?

The Uniflame WAD820SP burns wood.

Is there a fire pit with an insert so it can be used as a table?

Thank you for your question. We do not carry a fire pit with an insert, but you can find a fire pit with more mantel space around it here.

How wide across is the part that contains the fire and do the tiles/and the perimeter part get hot or can you put your shoes on the rim and what is the bowl made out of , i.e. can it handle being doused with water to put out the flames or will the bowl or the surrounding tile part break if you splash water on it? thanks

The Uniflame WAD820SP has a 24" bowl an the rim is 5". The rim is made of Slate an Marble. How hot the unit might get depends on the size of the fire and the unit has not been tested to determine at what point it might break when doused with water.
