United States Stove 1261 Reviews
Rated 5 out of
Best purchase I have made in yearsFor the first time my son is warm in the garage where he spends most of his time in the winter. I have tried so many heaters most of which would only warm a small area. The little stove - however - when the fire gets going warms the whole garage - and it stays warm. I couldn't be happier and he is so much more comfortable.
Besides the fact the stove is just plain cute. Doesn't take up much space so he can work on his projects.
Thank you all so much. Your stove is afordable and can't be beat. I would recommend it to anyone anywhere. Thanks again!

Do the height and width dimensions include the feet, or are they of the firebox by itself.
A. The dimensions include the feet.
Do the stated dimensions include the the feet when added, or are they of just the firebox by itself?

Is it ok to use the stove with the door open, so you can have the ambiance of the fire.
A. The United States Stove 1261 is not designed for sustained operation with the door open. All modern wood stoves are designed to operate with the door closed. When the door is closed, the woodstove can control the amount of fresh air entering the stove and regulate how fast the wood burns. When the woodstove operates with the door open, it will blow all the heat out the chimney and the wood will burn really fast. I would recommend getting a woodstove with a large glass window. They provide ambiance while efficiently heating your home.
would this work in a basment with a masonary chimmney. in wisconsin
A. The United States Stove 1261 should work in a basement as long as it is vented properly to code in Wisconsin.
