How much duct work can I install on this stove? The area that I'm putting this stove in is 30'x40', with 12' ceilings. Will this unit heat this area up, and can I install 40' of diuct work on it. I was thinking of hooking up both blowers to a 12" duct work 40' long 12' high.
A. This stove is designed to heat up to 2500 sq. ft. it comes with twin 550 cfm blowers and is designed to be used in conjunction with the ductwork inside an existing home. I don’t see any issue with only 40’ of 12” ductwork. That said, the furnace has dual 8” heat outlets that you should combine into one large duct. The bigger the better closer to the stove to get the best airflow. We also recommend that you install a return air for the furnace and bring it up towards the ceiling as this will allow it to perform best on the coldest of days
The blower mtrs on my 1400 series furnace need lubed. Looking at the rear of the furnace return air plenum which end of the mtrs are the oil holes. r or l end or on both ends of the mtr.
A. The United States Stove 1400 the oil holes are brass holes that have plastic covers. If you do not have those on your unit, then your unit does not require lubrication. This comes straight from Tech Support for US Stove.
does this unit have a auto damper and or temp. control?
A. The United States Stove 1500 has a Automatic Bi-Metal draft damper and a thermostat setting on the blower.
Does the rod on the grate go into the back of the furnace?
The United States Stove 1500 rod needs to stick towards the front so it can connect to the other grate.
Like many retailers, Build.com can choose to set its own prices independently. And even though manufacturers require Build.com and other retailers to display a product's "minimum advertised price" (or MAP), the retailer can choose to sell for less than that. But the price must be conveyed in other ways, and each individual manufacturer's MAP policy determines where the price can be seen.
To see the price for this product at Build.com, you'll need to place it in your shopping cart, and maybe even proceed to final checkout. If you're not ready to buy the product, simply remove it from the cart.
Build.com apologizes for any inconvenience. We'd just like to offer you the chance to save extra money while we adhere to manufacturers' MAP policies. Build.com is also working to educate manufacturers on how their policies impact customers and their buying behavior.
