Range Hood CFM

Range Hood CFM Ratings

CFM is the Cubic Feet per Minute of Air that the unit can displace while running. Larger rooms will require units with higher CFM Rating, or if you want a faster clearing of exhaust a larger CFM should be chosen.

You can use the simple formula of 100 CFM per 10,000 BTU's of cooking power that your stove puts out.

If you are unsure of the BTU output of your stove, most 30" and 36" ranges require at least 400 CFM for adequete ventilation. If you frequently cook with very fragrant foods, we recommend a range hood with 600 CFM or more.

LED Range Hood Lighting

Light Emitting Diodes (LED) are known for being incredibly efficient and long lasting. Lasting 25x longer than a standard bulb. While incandescent and fluorescent lights consist of filaments in glass bulbs or bulbs that contain gases, LEDs consist of small capsules or lenses in which tiny chips are placed on heat-conducting material.

Fluorescent and CFL
Fluorescent and LED Range Hood Lighting

CFL/Fluorescent bulbs are more and more frequently becoming the norm in the American household. With their long life span and bright shades, CFL's are always a good option if you want a fixture that performs and saves you money every year.

Incandescent Range Hood Lighting

Incandescent bulbs are the standard bulb in lighting. Not as efficient as a CFL, but provides a warm yellow light.

Halogen Range Hood Lighting

Halogen bulbs are known for their brightness and long life spans. Although these bulbs get quite hot they are a good solution if you are looking for ample amounts of light.
