The Waste King L-8000 requires a direct wire to a switch.
The Waste King L-8000 is a continuous feed which means it will continuously take food with the switch on and shred it. The batch feed works the same as it is just different in how it turns on; the batch turns on by a stopper that activates a switch that turns on the disposal.
The Waste King L-8000 is compatible with the flange as long as the opening size, 3.5" is the same.
The Waste King L-8000 does come with a disposer flange.
The Waste King L-8000 includes an "Easy Mount" system for installation, while the Waste King L-9980 includes a High-End 3-BMT mounting system, which provides quieter operation.
