What is the difference between round and square corner or drive-in?
The Weslock 1710J can come as any of those three latch types. If you select Round Corner Latch Type you will receive a round corner faceplate and a round corner strike plate. If you select Square Corner Latch Type you will receive a square corner faceplate and a square corner strike plate. If you select a drive-in latch type you will feceive a drive-in faceplate and a round strike plate. The faceplate can be found by opening the door and looking at the edge of the door (not on the door jamb, but on the door where the latch extends). That plate will have corners that are either round or square. This is required information mainly to avoid conflict with pre-drilled doors. A drive-in faceplate is used when the drilling is just slightly around the edges of where the latch is. Please see Door Hardware 101 (http://www.handlesets.com/door-hardware-terminology-definitions/c4823). The strike plate is the plate that the latch hits when closing. This is installed against the door jamb and will usually be either round corner or square corner.
