Digital 5/1/1 and 5/2 Day Programmable Thermostat with Auto Changeover and Energy Management Recovery
Had been looking for a set-back thermostat for a while and was discouraged on finding I only had two wires running to my existing, old bi-metal. I actually emailed White Rogers and got their recommendation for this one. It was simple to install, easy to set up and I haven't touched it since installing. I would recommend it for anyone that has an old two wire system and needs the on-board battery power. Only issue: there was no information in the instructions on installing for a two-wire. However, others have experienced this, and I found the answer quickly on a web search. Would recommend istructions be included for a two wire in the basic package. Aside from that it couldn't be better and I recommend it highly.

After doing quite a bit of research, I purchased this product to run my 3-wire electric hot water heating system. The valves in my system are made by White-Rodgers, and the popular Honeywell thermostats can not handle this type of system. I've read that Honeywell will try to convince you their thermostats can be configured to work, but most people end up frustrated and with a thermostat that does not work properly for their system. If you are not sure which thermostat will work for your hot water system, check the valves that control the water flow to each zone of your house and see who the manufacturer is. Then check the valve maker's website for recommended thermostats. My only complaint about this thermostat is the installation instructions could be a bit clearer, but I hooked it up the way I thought it should work and it did!

3-wire zone valves
Cheapest programmable thermostat i could find that will work with my 3-wire zone valves. Actually has more features than I will use, but I like the backlit screen (which comes on when you press any button)- makes it easy to adjust in the dark.
