36" Under Cabinet Range Hood with 720 CFM and Stainless Steel Construction
24 Hour Initial Review
I wanted to leave my initial review of this range hood due to the fact that when I considered this hood I could find no customer reviews to reference.
Packaging: The grills (fan covers), screws and drain cups appeared to be attempting a jailbreak as they had come loose and were flopping around in the box.
The hood is wrapped up in a straight jacket type white plastic and no damage resulted from the parts running amuck.
The Plastic Collar: It is described in the manual as fitting both 6 and 7 inch round exhaust pipe but only fits a 6 inch pipe.
Solution: An adapter can be purchased for a few dollars to suit your needs.
Mechanical Switches: I like the mechanical switches because I've found so many complaints about hoods with electronic controls that are faulty right out of the box or malfunction shortly there after.
Noise level: After reading hundreds of reviews about other hoods it's apparent that people's interpretation of noise varies. My opinion of the WS-55 is that it's quiet while moving a lot of air. All I hear is the air moving ..and it does move a lot of air! I don't hear any motor noise or vibrations or anything of that sort.
Build.com: Ordering was easy and pain free. Good jod "Build.com"
Bottom line I'm happy with the hood and the price is icing on the cake. 24 hours after a few cuss words, a tug of war battle with the plastic wrap and recovering from lower back pain after rolling around in the attic....my initial impression is that this was a good choice.
I'll do a follow up review after the wife cooks supper a few times. This typically results in smoke detectors going off, doors and windows being opened and a bit of oxygen therapy.
(Wife: I saw this buster....no supper for you!!!!!!)
Going to try to include photos of the hood installed so you get an idea of what it looks like in the real world.

Fit the space and had the spec's
We had a specific space to fill with a very tight fit. We installed a 36" pro range so needed enough CFM's to get the job done.
We also needed to have the control switches on the bottom of the hood rather then the front.
Likes: Size, S/S, well constructed/appearence, good fit/finish and packaging, appears to be quality motors/fans and good grease collection options. After a lot of looking, pretty good price.
Room for improvement: would love it to be quieter, which I assume is a typical comment of higher CFM units, and also feel that the light (comes w/ 45 watt floresent light) is inadequate. Fortuntaly I found a 90 w tube large screw in bulb which is better, but would still preferr MORE LIGHT. I may end up adding a couple of LED "hockey puck" lights.
ALL IN ALL, WE LIKE THE UNIT.
