Indoors or outdoors, a kegerator can be large enough to hold a 15.5 gallons, or a half barrel, sized keg while taking up the same amount of space as a small refrigerator. Built-in kegerator models are designed to be integrated into existing base cabinets while freestanding units can be equipped with wheels to make them more mobile.

You have your choice of configurations with most kegerators. They are available in single, double, or up to triple taps, which means that they can store and dispense from up to three different kegs. For instance, with the popular dual tap kegerator, you can serve up two beverages from one cooler at the same time, such as providing one dispenser for beer and one for coffee.

CO2 regulators are the more common with a draught beer keg because the same carbonation naturally occurs in the fermentation process of beer. However, because it doesn’t add carbonation to the beverages, a nitrogen regulator works best with coffee, wine, or Kombucha to preserve their unique flavors.
