How to Install a Shower Head

  • Tools/Materials
    • New shower head
    • Adjustable wrench
    • Teflon Tape

Replacing an old shower head with a new fixture is incredibly easy, and can be done in a few minutes.


Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

 

 

Remove the old shower head.

 

Step 2

 

Clean the threads. Use a scrub brush and/or a rag to clean any residue off the threads to ensure a clean connection with the new shower head.

 

Step 3

Apply a 4- to 5-inch strip of Teflon tape to the threads to ensure a watertight seal.

NOTE: If the shower has an extension arm, attach it then repeat Step 3 before attaching the new shower head.

 

 

Step 4

Attach the new shower head.

 

 

Step 5

Attach the mounting plates to the wall using the provided screws.
