How Microban Works

An antimicrobial coating is incorporated into the finish of Microban products.

An antimicrobial is a substance that acts to inhibit the growth of microorganisms and suppresses microorganism reproduction. During the manufacturing process of Microban products, an antimicrobial coating is incorporated into the finish. It will not wash off or wear away. Microban lasts for the lifetime of the hardware finish.

Kwikset’s line of Microban® finish products has been putting another line of defense between your family and harmful bacteria for years. Now, it’s even more widely available on a variety of interior and exterior door hardware, to provide an added level of protection at every entry point in your home while offering style.

Kwikset Electronic Locks

Because they are a simple and effective way to boost security in your home, smart locks have been growing in popularity over the past few years. They also make it easier to allow access to guests and help you keep an eye on comings and goings via the Kwikset app. Easy to use for programming, it is straightforward and convenient and allows you to store up to 250 user codes.

Kwikset Halo

The SmartKey system allows you to rekey your lock easily and quickly.

Kwikset Halo is a recent release and it offers a range of features that make it an attractive pick.

For ultimate convenience, it connects directly to your home Wi-Fi network, which is an improvement over other models. Use the Kwikset app to program user codes, complete with time limits and expiration dates that you can customize.

It also includes the Kwikset SmartKey system, which allows you to easily rekey the lock. Between the app, codes, key, and a keypad that lights up for easy viewing, this lock is extremely versatile.

The Halo is available in both contemporary and traditional designs. The contemporary version has an attractive, clean, angular look and is available in finishes from Venetian Bronze and Satin Nickel to Polished Chrome and Iron Black. The traditional design is more rounded, and is more suited to a Victorian or Craftsman architectural style. It is available in Satin Nickel or Venetian Bronze.

Kwikset Aura

Use the Aura through the Kwikset App, using a keypad entry code, or with a traditional key.

The Aura offers a simple and user-friendly keypad as well as traditional key access. Using Bluetooth technology when you are in range of the lock, you can create, temporarily disable, and delete user codes from your smartphone using the Kwikset app. It’s also possible to set schedules, custom user codes, view the event history, and receive notifications of the lock's activity on your smartphone using the app.

Aura is available in Iron Black, Satin Nickel, and Venetian Bronze.

The Aura keypad features a one-touch locking button for convenient locking from the outside. Kwikset technology prevents advanced break-in techniques like an alarm that sounds after 3 consecutive incorrect codes are entered. Beeps and flashes notify you when batteries are low. Aura also has traditional key functionality and allows you to rekey your lock yourself in seconds.

It comes in a versatile transitional design that is available in three finishes: Iron Black, Satin Nickel and Venetian Bronze.
