Wet and Damp Ratings on Ceiling Fans

If you're using one outdoors, you have to pick one with a UL "Wet" rating. These ratings tell you that the motor is sealed and moisture-resistant, that the housing is rust-resistant, and that the blades can handle moisture or direct contact with water.

Fan Control Type
