Project Portfolios

The Project Portfolio is a powerful Pro-exclusive tool used to make professional client pdf presentations with just a few clicks, complete with personalized names and addresses, customization for product display and layout, and even final pricing.

Portfolio Creation

Creating a Portfolio can be done in just a couple clicks, with many customization options available to pull in at any time. To create your first Portfolio:

  1. Navigate to the Portfolio & Spec Sheets section of the Project Management Tools section on the right-hand side of your Project.
  2. Click the Create a New Portfolio button
  3. Select your options on the Portfolio creation page, and then click the Create & Download button at the bottom of the page.

Portfolio Options: These can be quickly customized for your Portfolio when you create it

  • Cover Page: Yes/No Selection. If you have an Account Manager, their contact information will be displayed on the cover.
  • Address and Name Display: Choose from billing or shipping address, or leave off all together. New addresses may be added in your account settings if you have a new address you would like to display. Display name will either show your account name, or you can enter custom text.
  • Table of Contents: The table of contents will detail out what page number each group and item is on, as well as any other documentation you have included.
  • Group Selection: By default all groups are selected, but if you may customize which groups you would like to include in your Portfolio
  • Pricing Summary Page: The Pricing Summary page will list price of each item per group, and reflect whatever price you have set up in our pricing options.

Product Display Options

The display of products in your Portfolio download can be customized, depending on what pricing you would like to display and if you would like to share sku information with your end client or not.

Product Layout: There are 3 product layout options available, which is how many item images will be displayed per page in your groups when the Portfolio is download

  • Grid 2 x 2: Four total items to a page. If you want to display comments, this option must be selected.
  • Grid 3 x 3: Nine total images to a page
  • List: A small image and product details, most items to a page

Item Headline and Description

Depending on how you bill your clients, you may want to leave off brand and product description from your Portfolio

  • Item Headline gives you the option to remove the brand and sku information if desired, and replace with what the item is (i.e. Kitchen Faucet)
  • Item Description allows you to remove any item description listed

Pricing Display

To give you complete control over how you are presenting pricing to your clients, we allow you to configure that display in multiple ways. The pricing option you select will carry to the price of the individual item as well as the Pricing Summary Page if you choose to include it.

  • Client Pricing will show the same price that a logged out user on build.com would see by browsing the website
  • Markup Pricing allows you to chose a % above the price you will be charged for the items in the Project (aka, % above your discounted price)
  • Discount Price or My Pro Price will show the price in your Project with any Build Pro price, Ferguson Pro price, custom pricebook or manual discount that has been applied.
  • No Pricing will remove all prices from the products and from the Pricing Summary Page.

Comments and Notes

  • To show item comments on your portfolio, you must be in the 2 x 2 grid format. The first comment on an item will show
  • Project notes can be added to the Pricing Summary page
