Product Technologies / Benefits:
Lifetime warranty: As an American company, American Standard showers are built tough. Their products live longer in one place than most people do. Drip-free ceramic disc valves, high-grade lead-free brass alloys, and turbine shower heads cables name just a few of the features which make American Standard shower components the industry’s longest lasting. To back this up, all American Standard showers are covered under a lifetime warranty.
Indestructible Finishes: Through employing only the best finishing practices, such as physical vapor deposition, American Standard faucet finishes are some of the strongest in the industry. When the finish is actually incorporated into the faucet, rather than a coating on the outside, the result is a flawless appearance that eliminates tarnishing, pitting, and peeling while hiding scratches. For this reason, American Standard faucet finishes are fully covered under the lifetime warranty.

Great shower!Very happy, the quality is excellent, looks more expensive.... :) , it kind of heavy, you feel the quaility... I was very impress.... you sacrifice just a little presure for rainshower experience, the area of water is big, it cover you nicely and still pressure to be decent shower... I got at lowes store the 6" inches ceiling Arm with the same nickel brushed finish. You need to look for it because the consultants at lowes are lost ;), since i saw it on their website i walked all the store until i found it. The 10" recommended here was too large for me because I am very tall.
Thank you ;)

Great value, looks very niceWe were looking for a 10" rain shower head and most were at least $500, and this one was so much less and ended up being exactly what we needed. However, I don't recommend having a rain shower as your only shower head b/c the pressure isn't super strong, as the water is spread out over such a large area, but if you have a regular one and want an additional one, I highly recommend this one. FYI, it's meant to be installed in the ceiling.

Great productBought the shower head with the American Standard 1660.198 12" Wall Mounted Shower Arm
Satin Nickel. The fit was perfect and installation very simple.
I would have liked to use an arm 16" in length but felt the weight of the shower head would be too much. After installing I think I was overly cautious however, over time, there might have been a lot of flexing/pressure on the wall mounting as different users adjust the fully mobile shower head to their needs so all in all I'm satisfied with the length.

Can this be mounted to a wall using a Right Angle Shower Arm
A. The American Standard 1660.683 can be mounted to any arm with a 1/2 connection.
will the satin nickel finish match a kohler shower arm in brushed nickel?
A. The American Standard 1660.683 is close to the brushed nickel finish from Kohler. There is a slight hue difference.
Will this head, along with 1660.190 match the Serin or Berwick collection in satin nickel?
A. As long as you stay within the American Standard brand of products all finishes will match. Outside of the brand the only guarantee is the standard chrome.
What's the flow rate of this shower head?
A. The American Standard 1660.683 has a 2.0 gallon per minute flow rate.
Will provide a gentle "rain" feel? I'm trying to avoid the fine mist heads...that always plug with minerals
A. Yes, the American Standard 1660.683 is designed to simulate a rain-fall with a flow of 2 gallons per minute, thus much more than the mist heads you suggest.
does the head swivel?
A. The American Standard 1660.683 does not swivel.
I have an outside diameter threaded pipe/ arm extention. Will this 1/2"IPS work?
A. The American Standard 1660.683 will work for your shower arm.
Can American Standard 1660.683 be wall mounted?
A. The American Standard 1660.683 is a rain shower head that is designed to be mounted from a ceiling horizontally. It would not function properly if mounted to a wall or hung at an angle.
does it come with the arm to the ceiling?
A. This is a shower head only. The ceiling shower arm for this item is the American Standard 1660.190 12.
I would like to purchase this rain shower head, but i am in need of a 16" ceiling shower arm because of high ceilings in my bathroom. I see the 12" 1660.190.12, but do you have anything in the 16" range for this specific shower head or do you have any suggestions on what I can do in this situation
A. The American Standard 1660.683 is typically compatible with any shower arm that you can purchase as the threading is standard. However, we do not have any rainfall (or straight, non-curved) shower arms at 16" length.
what is the gpm on this head
A. The American Standard 1660.683 has a flow of 2 gpm.
what kind of a valve do you use to turn on and off? My wife won't like it, but I really want to install this.
A. The American Standard 1660.683 uses a standard shower arm wall supply. The trim to control the water pressure and temperature is separate and is what requires the rough in valve.
