Lifetime Warranty with In-Home Service: This tub is covered under the industry’s only Limited Lifetime Warranty with free lifetime in-home service. This speaks volumes to the quality of American Standard tubs.
Deep Soak: This patented overflow system works with an exclusive drain, positioned significantly higher within the bathing well. With water depths reaching 2” to 4” deeper than other bathtubs, Deep Soak tubs allow for better full-body submergence.

It offers the same structural thickness and rich enamel colors as cast-iron, but is half the weight, and does a better job at retaining heat, preventing chips / crazing, and absorbing sound.

Excellent tub-poorly packaged-lost during deliveryThe tub is sturdy, no noises or give like the plastic tubs have. It also has a wide back rim and corners to put your foot on to shave your legs or put shampoo bottles, etc. The side of the tub has a slight incline down to allow water to flow back into the tub. Be aware that the tub has a slightly longer reach from the drain to the vent so you need a longer drain assembly. The only thing I didn't think about and don't like is that it doesn't have any removable panel, so if the drain is a problem we would have to cut in through a wall or move the tub out again. Just a thought. The bottom has non-slip but it is very light and still a little slippery.

Excellent soaking tub! This is a fabulous tub- arrived in perfect shape and it is large enough to soak in, but not so large that a bigger water heater is required.

Slightly usedThis bathtub was a replacement for another of wrong color.
The one we ended up installing had once been installed and removed later. It had some damage on the upper skin that can be covered. I would like this company to send me a repair kit to cover up the 50cent piece size portion. I'll send pics if asked.
Thank you in advance.
John and Jackie.
Otherwise company and service is great.

Love this tub! This tub really added a lot to my bathroom remodel. I wanted a deep one and this one is great. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because of the weird non-skid stuff that was on the floor of the tub. It attracted dirt like crazy and cleaning it was not easy either, so I just gently sanded it off with a little fine sandpaper. Came right off. You can still see the diamond shapes but it cleans a lot easier and looks a lot better.
Whatever the finish is, it doesn't shed the water very well off the sides or bottom. BUT: at one point I dropped a hammer from about 5' up, looked down and thought I had chipped the enamel. When I went to repair it, it was just a metal mark that wiped right off. Tough finish!
There is no wiggle or sagging when standing in the shower, very stable construction.
Overall, I am really enjoying my new tub! Thanks American Standard!

Well built, HEAVY, be home for deliveryI had this installed in my upstairs guest bathroom. Both the contactor and I inspected it on delivery for defects and we found none. CAUTION--for the delivery, be at home and have a helping hand around. The trucking company informed me that if I transported it from the truck to my garage, there was no delivery charge. If he did it, it would cost $65--dumb. To make it more absurd, I could use his dolly. My neighbor and I took care of the problem. Just be prepared for this situation. As far as the product, I am glad that the contractor had to move it upstairs. It is quite heavy and awkward. Once in place, it is exactly what we wanted. We are in the process of tiling around it now.
A. Thank you for your question. The American Standard 2460.002 does sit on the floor
What is the degree of angle on the slope of the back rest?
A. The American Standard 2460.002 doesn't have a specified backrest "grade". We can infer that it slopes very sharply, reaching the bottom of the well from the rim after about 3" of horizontal distance. This is derived from using the manufacturer specification sheet, and other measurements presented.
Description states a left hand drain, but can it be purchased with a right hand drain?
A. The American Standard 2460.002 is a left hand drain, the American Standard 2461.002 is a right hand drain.
Does this tub have armrests? If not, are there any American Standard tubs that do have armrests? Thanks very much.
A. The American Standard 2460.002 does not have armrests, but it does have an option for drilling for a grab bar. I would suggest looking at the Kohler K-1123-LA for a tub with armrests.
How deep and wide is this tub?
A. The American Standard 2460.002 is 60 x 32 x 17-3/4 In. (outside dimensions) & 54" x 26" x 17"(bathing well dimensions). Hope this helps!
How does Americast compare with Vikrell? Which one would be less prone to scratching? Thanks.
A. Vikrell is an acrylic composite material, while Americast is a cheaper lighter alternative to Cast Iron. They are both scratch resistant.
Is the back of the tub sloped at an angle, so the bather's back is supported or is it more straight?
A. The American Standard 2460.002 bath tub has an Integral lumbar support with a beveled headrest.
What type of shower surrounds are compatible with this model ?
A. Any shower surround with compatible measurements will work with this tub.
Can I use a Kohler K-11660 drain assembly with the American Standard 2460.002 tub?
A. The American Standard 2460.002 is recommended to be used with items American Standard 1583.470 or American Standard 1640.305.
I read a review that said this tub is very slippery. Can you comment on the texture of the base of the tub? (This will be used for both bathing and showering and I'm concerned about safety.)
A. The American Standard 2460.002 has a slip-resistant cover so it will not be slippery like most models.
Why does this tub show 2 tub wastes required?? And does this tub come with a right hand drain?
A. The American Standard 2461.002 is the right hand drain model. The tub waste showing required twice is just an error that needs to be fixed and will be corrected soon. Thank you.
Can I install a shower door with this tub or are the ledges slopped?
A. The American Standard 2460.002 can have a shower door installed with this item
What is the slope/angle of the back of the tub?

What is the weight of this tub?
The American Standard 2460.002 weighs 118 lbs.

Can Kohler K-11677 drain assembly be used with the American Standard 2460.002 tub?
The Kohler K-11677 might fit the American Standard 2460.002; they were never tested together so there is no way to be certain.
