AS 2 Flushing:

  • 2” flush valve – The flush starts with a flushing system that employs a standard 2” valve opening. Controlled by a flapper that is engineered to be chemical-resistant, American Standard flushing systems are highly regarded for their durability.
  • 360 degree cleaning – Water entering the bowl does so in a sweeping 360-degree motion. This is designed to help completely clear the bowl, even while using less water.
  • Powerful siphoning water jet – A perfectly positioned water jet captures the circular flow of water for optimal performance with minimal energy loss (water doesn’t hit a flat spot and slow down). As waste and water exit, they are siphoned into the trapway for an unmatched push/pull one-two punch.
  • 2” fully glazed trapway – Waste and water exit the toilet through a 2” trapway that is fully glazed, which seals it and provides for a smooth surface that waste can in no way cling to.

Other Technologies / Benefits:

  • Dual Flush – The Dual Flush feature makes water conservation easy, while also making the statement that you’ve got the latest in toilet technology.  The tank “lever” is actually a dual-button actuator, mounted on the top of the toilet, each button operating independent flush valves within the tank.  For liquids, use the left button for a 1.0 gallon flush. For solids, use the right button for a 1.6 gallon flush.
  • Everclean Surface – Using the antimicrobial properties of silver (the precious metal), Everclean Surfaces inhibit the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew. The super smooth, baked-in, mirror-like surface not only eliminates unsightly rings, but also helps repel toilet messes.
  • PowerWash Rim – During each flush, a measured amount of water travels within an inner-rim channel to be evenly dispersed throughout the bowl. PowerWash rims are surprisingly good at completely clearing out the bowl after each use.
  • Right Height – Right Height bowls lift the sitting-height an additional 1.5 inches off the ground for a more comfortable seated position that is easier to get in and out of. This feature is particularly well liked by men, taller women, and the elderly.

American Standard 2886.216 Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dual Flush Option We purchased this toilet in November of 2011 after seeing the dual flush toilets when visiting relatives in Denmark. The lower water option works great for liquid waste. The solid wastes go down with one flush of the higher water option. Will be purchasing another soon as part of bathroom remodeling project since this one has been trouble free for over a year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE IT Love the ADA-compliant height -- more comfortable for me, as is the elongated bowl. Very quiet and speedy at flushing and refilling the tank. Most of the time I can use the lower flow option even for no. 2. Relatively elegant-looking. I like that it qualifies for the WaterSense label.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Toilet I wanted a duel flush toilet with a high bowl height, plus my old toilet was the worst flushing crapper I had ever experienced. It literally had to be plunged every time any one in the house took one. The American Standard here is comfortable, was easy to install and would swallow a small dog if it fell in at the wrong time. It is an all around a fantastic toilet and very comfortable to sit on. I am going to buy another for my other bathroom and a third for my mother in laws house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from worth the money I really like the EverClean surface and quiet flush. It is a good height and comfortable. Other reviews complained about a cheap or uncomfortable seat, but the one I bought has a very nice slow close seat. So thank you to those who complained as it looks like the company listened. The toilet has been installed about a week and so far I am very satisfied with the features.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Top Button Flush! I haven't had a toilet that flushes from the top for a decade, and I'm really glad to have one lose a little space for candles or tissue, but there is something cleaner about flushing from the top...I weirdly feel dirty when over at a friends and I have to reach to the side of the toilet to flush, like some kind of caveman

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best design and quality. I have installed 8 of these toilets and they work great. Never had any callbacks.
