American Standard R120 Reviews

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works almost too well Okay...we built our home in 2010. It's wonderful and we have all American Standard faucets, shower, toilet etc. The real complaint is that our downstairs shower valve (anti-scald) keeps "popping". Meaning the water is coming out hot and then it "pops" not allowing you to continue to turn the water to hot. It's like there is a brick wall in the handle. The first time it did it (two winters ago), we replaced the valve - no big deal and we went on with life. The next year, it "popped" again and we replaced it. Again, not a big deal thinking it's keeping us safe. However, it has now done it for a third time and third year in a row. Now we have to replace it again. It's getting expensive. The upstairs shower has the exact same head/hardware/valves and we've never had a problem. So although the anti-scald thing is great, for some reason it overdoes it's job on our downstairs shower. Yes, I still recommend it for the safety feature but this is the last time I'm replacing it. It does it again and I'll get something completely different.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ease of use This is the only valve that gives you volume control and temperature control in a single lever valve. It is unbeatable for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this valve. Not all manufacturers sell products with bot the pressure and temp adjustments. This it the second one I have installed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from POOR QUALITY Installed in our bathroom shower and immediately dripped. Called American Standard and they told us to clean out the pressure balancing valve. Found brass shavings that came from poorly manufactured valve body. Put back together and still dripped. American Standard sent us two replacement cartridges and pressure balancing valves. The faucet still drips. Valve is made in Mexico. We used to always buy American Standard faucets. Will never buy their products again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Volume Control This is one of the few valves on the market that provides volume control on a Pressure Balance valve at a competitive price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fine shower control This valve is part of a shower control that is the simplest and easiest to use and most pleasant to the touch. You simply lift the handle to get volume, and it is set where you had the temperature last ? no gripping, pulling or turning. It could not be simpler or easier to use. And they are easy to clean. We love them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fixture I've always liked American Standard. Not much more expensive than the true "el cheapo" garbage out there, it seems to last for more years and under conditions that would bring others to their knees. Great products.
