I think I have this drain plub RP31558; the tub is slow to drain and I don't know how to remove this assembly to clean the drain out. Are there directions anywhere online?
A. The Delta RP31558 should unscrew to take apart and clean. I was unable to find any online instructions to do so. But I did confirm with the manufacturer that to take this item out you would simply unscrew it.
My toe operated drain plug finish is pealed off. It is polished brass with a 3/8" thread. Can I purchase the plug only?
A. The Delta RP31558 is unfortunately not sold as a stopper only. You would need to replace the full drain trim.
The size I got does not fit my plumbing. Does it come in a different size? Like 1 size smaller
A. Unfortunately if you don't know the actual install size these things are hard to guess - I suggest looking at the Kingston Brass DTT20 and measuring your current installation requirements. The Kingston Brass Toe Operated Stopper will installed into a 1 7/8 Inch Hole.
We press down to stop the water and the unit does not seem to seal completely. Should I be turning it in some way?
A. Sometimes the stopper unscrews a little and it doesn't seal tightly.
Does the assembly include a special tool for the brass screw with slot? This piece is especially difficult to remove due to its non-standard head. I had to file a prybar to fit, and it was difficult to remove.
A. There is no special tool to remove this.
