Fuel Type

You can select your preferred fuel type option here. There are a few key differences to keep in mind.

Gasoline:

  • Highly flammable
  • Good for smaller generators
Diesel:
  • Fuel more commonly available in emergencies - used by military and aid groups
  • Can be operated with dyed diesel for off-road vehicles, which is typically a lot cheaper
  • More efficient for larger units
  • Better for longer / high use applications due to lower wear on machinery
Natural Gas:
  • One of the cleaner burning fuels available
  • Most equipment using natural gas as a fuel source is typically maintenance free
  • Most common gas type provided in-home
Propane:
  • Installs easily using replaceable bottles
  • Heats quickly and efficiently
Electric:
  • Requires battery or plug in for power

Duct Size

Duct Size refers to the exhaust ducting on the unit. If you are replacing an existing unit, matching up to the same duct size will make things a lot easier! Also, some fixtures will require specific sized ducting to pass code, so make sure to check your specifications.

CFM is the Cubic Feet per Minute of Air that the unit can displace while running. Larger rooms will require units with higher CFM Rating, or if you want a faster clearing of exhaust a larger CFM should be chosen.
