Is the recessed part also the same metal as the face?
A. The Hager 17N is constructed entirely of brass.
is this for only one side of the pocket door?
A. This item is designed to be installed on one side of a pocket door.
I'm interested in the pull flange built into the surface plate. Am I right in assuming that you fingers can fit into the recess behind the flange? Such a recess would allow a person a good grip when sliding the door closed. But in order to be comfortable, the edge of this flange would have to be broaden so it would not cut into the person's hand. The metal face is 3/32. Is the edge of the flange against which the hand pulls also 3/32? If so, I suspect that the pull is uncomfortable. Please comment or defend the product.
A. The cup pull has an edge thickness of 3/32" the flush pull will not cut into a hand. There is a recess that allows for a comfortable finger depth for maximum efficiency.
