Sizing the Chandelier

Use these measurements to determine the correct chandelier size depending on the space you have chosen.

Width of Your Space (Feet) + Length of Your Space (Feet) = Width of Chandelier (Inches)

Example Over Table

Dining room table 5 feet wide and 6 feet long

5 + 6 = 11 inch wide chandelier

The chandelier should be between 24 inches and 36 inches above your table’s surface.

Example In Room

Bathroom nook over a tub area is 8 feet wide and 12 feet long

8 + 12 = 20 inch wide chandelier

The chandelier should have at least 7 to 8 feet between the bottom and the floor.

Chandelier Lighting Direction

Up Lighting

  • Light casts upward
  • Creates a softer lighting experience
  • Great for decorative lighting

Up lighting chandeliers emit light toward a ceiling, which allows the style of the chandelier to play a decorative role in your home décor. If you want to incorporate one into a kitchen or dining area, you may wish for more light.
