Point-Of-Use Water Heater
In sinkerator products seem to lacking in longevity. They work fine until they break which doesent seem to long. Ive gone thru several instahot units over the years with leaky faucets and tanks that wear out and leak. Cant they get this right? there isnt alot of choices so seems you have to buy what you know what wont last. Plus leaks can be very costly and destroy cabinetry.

Great product, very convenient especially for instant tea, hot chocolate etc.
But, hugely dissapointed with manufacturing / design quality. We are on our third tank in 4 years. Seems tanks last about 2 years and then start leaking. I wish company would address this problem. Replacement tanks are quite expensive!

Our unit lasted 3yr and 7 months. Why on earth would you make the lower drain fitting out of plastic and let is sit next to the S/S tank. It dried out and cracked. Putting a SS screw into the plastic fitting might have made the product look good but it also caused the fitting to dry out and crack.. this unit has a built in design flaw and failure rate....dont waste your money..

Leakage problem right 3 years
It's been 3years and 4 months since I purchased the product. It has leakage and ruined my kichen cabinet. The company stated that I need to pay out of pocket for the new pdt. I'm very dissapointed and I would not recommend this product.

Your company shipped the product really fast. The product itself I have had to replace 2 times, the first time beacuse of the fitting on top. The secaond time do to the blatter leaking. Not a great product however not alot of options out there

I replace an older insink tank-less hot water heater for my neighbor. Well when new one showed up, much nicer looking, Easily hook up all the tubing connection. Filled-up with water and plug it in, and man-o man. Watch out for the factory setting. That was soooo hot, steam started coming out of the faucet after, I bleed it though. Had no choice but to turn down the thermostat.
Speaking of the thermostat, easy to use dial. That also was a new set up, on the new system. One thing to keep in mind when changing out just the tank. The new one comes with no new water lines so save the old ones.

O-ring Issue with Insinkerator Water Heater
Like others, I have gone through several Insinkerator units that leak after 3 or 4 years use. I just bought a new one and then took apart the old one to see what the problem was. The leakage actually occurs where the stainless steel tank top and bottom are connected by being bolted together with about 10 small screws. There is an o-ring (roughly 8 1/2 inch circumference) sealing the join and apparently it fails at about the 3-year mark. I see no evidence of any corrosion or pin-hole leaks in the tank itself. I am going to see if I can find a suitable high-T (>250 degree F) viton o-ring to replace the failed one and perhaps get that tank back in service. This repair (if it works) is probably for the technically adept only.

Our original heater for our hot water faucet on our sink lasted beyond its warranty period. When it started leaking we panicked for having to heat water in the microwave or on the stovetop.
Fortunately I found the replacement on your website, confirmed through your website and through the manufacturer that it was the right replacement.
It arrived by UPS on time and installed it myself in just a few minutes.
We have a happy kitchen again!

Worked well for nearly 4 years
Worked great for nearly 4 years; unfortunately, the warranty is only for 3 years. The tank under the sink is now leaking and will have to be replaced. Unfortunate.

Happy with product
This is our second InSinkErater and we couldn't live without one now that we have had one for the past five years. We were disappointed that the first one only lasted 4 1/2 years.
The service with FaucetDirect was great. They took care of our need right away and kept us updated on the shipping and delivery process. Thank you FaucetDirect for the awesome customer service.
