Hourglass Collection 60" Three Wall Alcove Bath Tub with Integral Apron, Tile Flange and Left Hand Drain
Deep, comfortable bathtub
I am very pleased with this bathtub from Kohler. My husband installed it easily, and it looks beautiful. What I like best about it is the depth. This bathtub holds a lot of water! You can actually submerge yourself in it quite easily, unlike with so many standard bathtubs today that barely leave your legs covered in water. I also like that this tub has a sloped back and arm rests, which are perfect for enjoying a book or magazine while lounging in a warm bubble bath.
Because of the depth of the tub, if you have issues with raising your feet very high, this is probably not the bathtub for you. The sides are quite high, which requires some dexterity to get in and out.
The only issue that we had with the tub was that my husband dropped a trowel into it while putting up tile. Even with the plastic insert that the tub shipped with still in place, the trowel left a small chip in the bottom of the tub. We found out that a fiberglass tub cannot truly be repaired after it has been damaged. I even called Kohler, and was told that our options were to live with the chip or to buy a new tub. For now, we are living with it and hoping that it doesn't become an issue. You can't see the chip, but you can feel it if you run your hand over it. There are some aftermarket products that might be usable (such as those to repair cracks in a fiberglass boat hull), but we have not tried them yet.

this is my second tub of this style and it is very comfortable on your back due to its nice convex curve and since it is plastic it is less likely to cause injuries than porcelain, and it is warmer. This tub was shipped at lightning speed, faster than any supplier in the Boston area could do. I am very satisfied .
