Good looks and function
We have several Moen faucets and shower controllers in our home, some in continuous service for 31 years. Ordered this Moen hand shower to use in our newly updated main bathroom shower. The polished brass is very attractive, the shower head puts out plenty of water and it was easy to install.
This our fourth order placed with Faucetdirect and items were competitively priced, shipped promptly, were well packaged and arrived timely. We couldn't be more pleased with the service or products.

Working Great
Installed this in a child's bathroom and it is working great for rinsing hair at the end of bathtime. Showerhead seems nice and it's fairly easy to adjust spray pattern. The handle rest does tilt to allow positioning of head at desired angle for optimal shower angle.

nice to look at, works very poorly, suggest no one
the shower head is too heavy for the holder it is in and therefore either points straight ahead or down at the floor. It doesn't matter how tight the screw is. my shower head will not tilt at any angle with out rotating down. I am very disappointed in the design of this shower.

Clarification
In reference to "Not As Expected" (June 11, ‘10), and as we are having 4 of this model Euro shower installed shortly in our new home, I was worried by the comment that the shower only pointed straight forward. I have always had hand held showers, and none mis-performed like this. An immediate trip to the builder’s supply store confirmed that the shower performs propely: it slides up and down, and articulates fully, from pointing almost straight up to pointing straight toward the floor. If it gets loose, there’s an adjustment screw inside the holder. Perhaps the above referenced hardware was improperly installed.
My ave rating is because I have not actually used the shower as yet.

Excellent, but expensive shower
The hand shower has excellent water pressure and the different settings suit our different needs. However, we chose the oil-rubbed bronze, which was one of the priciest options.

Much Better than No-Name Generics
Tried couple of sprayers and was not satisfied. This Moen works well in all spray patterns. The connections easily allow for repositioning of the sprayer along the length of the bar and holds well so far (installed couple of weeks only). The bar is plastic though it looks like metal so it definitely is NOT A GRAB-BAR.. Also, I connected mine to a diverter even though the info seems to suggest that a wall spigot is required. With a diverter I can control using one or two or both heads at the same time.

Can the slide bar be cut shorter?
The Moen 3867 is threaded on both ends for proper installation. Cutting the slide bar is not advised as it will void the warranty and may prevent proper installation.
Can the slide bar function as a handgrip?
The Moen 3867 is a slide bar for the hand shower. It is not recommended to be used as a ADA approved hand bar.
Will the hose screw directly onto my shower arm mount?
The hose has a vacuum breaker that allows you to connect your shower arm.
Can Moen 3867 be used with Moen 2152NH? Or does it have to be used with your recommended wall supply elbow A725?
You should be able to use any 1/2" elbow.
Can the hand held shower be pointed down while on the slide bar?
The Moen 3867 bracket doesn't rotate, but acts like a holder for the hand shower.
can this shower head be used with a positemp tub spout?
The Moen 3867 can be used with a posi-temp tub spout as long as the tub spout has a diverter.
Does the shower head rotate at an angle in it's holder
The Moen 3867 is only slightly adjustable but not to any degree, it is a fixed holder.
Does this item have a self-seal on the wall attachments, or does it need to be siliconed to keep water out?
The Moen 3867 has a water stop in it. You do not need any silicone.
Doesn't this require some kind of valve and trim assembly?
The Moen 3867 does require a handle trim and valve to operate it. This would need to be purchased separately.
I don't want the slide. Can I get this head and hose alone?
You can order the handshower and hose seperately. The part number for the handshower is 128875 and the hose is A726.

The Moen 3867 has a metal slide bar. The parts that attach to it are plastic.

No, what you would have to get is a shower arm mount for your handheld. Try the Alsons 3401.
The clear part that goes onto slide rail that holds shower head cracked, and I cant find a part number for it.

The Moen 3867 is just an outlet and is not dependent on any handle or valve combination. You can use absolutely any pressure balanced system you wish. We recommend staying with Moen to ensure matching finishes. The TS2141 and the 2510 valve are part of the coinciding collection, though.

The Moen 3867 has a 5/8" diameter
Which parts of this unit are actually metal?
On the Moen 3867, the elbow and hand shower are plastic. The rest of it is constructed from metal parts.

The Moen 3867 will require the Moen 3372 diverter valve to divert the water from the shower head to the handheld shower.
