Fuel Types

When it comes to Barbecuing there are various opinions on the best fuel types to use, centered around cost effectiveness and flavor/taste of the cooked food with these different types. Here are some differences to consider:

  • Charcoal - uses briquettes as a fuel source, these are your typical stand alone BBQ's and will require lighter fluid to start. Traditionally, it is said that this fuel type will infuse a specific flavor based on the type of medium used.
  • Natural Gas - these BBQ's are often cheaper than liquid propane fueled models and tend to burn cleaner than propane models with less cleanup. Natural gas is also often the cheaper fuel source and more energy efficient.
  • Liquid Propane - these models are typically the more expensive options available, but also allow you to install the grill further from the house via a propane bottle.
