Function

Function

A Non-Condensing tankless water heater will push hot gases through its vent to the outside. They will then cool down outside the unit. These gases have temperatures around 300 degrees F and must be vented through non-corrosive venting materials that can withstand the heat. This special stainless steel category 3 venting can be expensive but necessary for this type of tankless water heater.

Condensing units contain the steam and exhaust in an attempt to reuse more of the heat produced to increase efficiency; also because of this the exhaust from these units are lower in temperature and can be vented with PVC schedule 40 piping. These units boast up to 90% more efficiency rating.

Forced Combustion (Direct Vent) is a controlled system that forces the combustion air supply from the room. Essentially increases the efficiency and is also known as a "dual Chamber" exhaust/Intake system. Always use stainless steel pipe because of the higher exhaust temperatures.

Features

Features

Tankless Water Heater features can make a big difference depending on the installation demands.

Outdoor Vs. Indoor Installation - choose where your unit will be installed.

Hardwired - units are intended for permanent installations where as Plug In units are typically installed under a sink for instant hot water or in for a temporary shower head water heater unit.

Energy Star - rated units have higher effeiciency standards and will operate on less energy.

Electronic Ignition - (No Pilot Light) When water is in high demand such as a business, using a gas tankless water heater is more cost effective but for residential point of use location, using an electric model with an electronic igintion is a great choice.

Plug In -This product will need to be plugged into an outlet. Perfect for smaller homes, cabins or vacation homes.
