When considering Fuel type for your appliances, there are a few key types to consider:

  • Gas- All gas appliances are delivered ready to burn natural gas unless otherwise specified. Most appliances are able to be converted to burn propane gas. We recommend all gas conversions be done by a qualified professional. Some benefits include precise control over the heat / flmae, typically cheaper to run than Electric, no need to worry about power outages, and instant on / off.
  • Electric - these appliances are electrically powered only. These are the least expensive models to purchase. Easy to clean surfaces, but are subject to power outages.
  • Dual Fuel - Get the benefits of both Electric and Gas. The appliance some with an electric oven and gas cooktop. The most expensive option, however is prefered by most all cooking professionals.

This is the voltage required to operate the appliance. Always double check your current electrical requirements to ensure your replacing with the same voltage as your old appliance. If new construction ask your contractor what voltage you need for the appliance you are installing.

Burner Style

This is the style of burner construction on the appliance.

  • Coil - your average electric coil style burner with a basin underneath to catch debris.
  • Sealed Burner - these electric burners are sealed from the top so that food and particles cannot fall below them.
  • Smoothtop - this style is used on induction burners and signifies a cooking surface that is entirely smooth.

Number of Burners

This is the number of burner areas on the cooking surface. More burners typically indicate a much larger cooking surface.

Total Capacity Slider

This is the capacity of the appliance, often described in cubic feet. It refers to the amount of food the appliance can store or cook at one time. Depending on your appliance there are varying capacities.

Ranges: Family Size: 2 People : 2 - 3 Cubic Feet, 4 People : 3 - 4 Cubic Feet, 6 People : 4+ Cubic Feet

Refrigerators: Family Size: 2 People: 12 - 14 Cubic Feet, 4 People: 24 - 28 Cubic Feet, 6 People: 28 Cubic Feet+

Total BTU's Slider

Total BTU's refers to the maximum amount of heat that the appliance can produce and sustain.

Wattage Slider

Wattage refers to the amount of energy produced or used in operation.
