    A. The White-Rodgers 1F78-144 is made to be used with gas and electric units. You would be fine.

    A. The White-Rodgers 1F78-144 does have the option for a heat anticipater setting however we do not have the installation sheet for direction how to change.

    A. The White-Rodgers 1F78-144 is will work on either a electric or gas heating system. You will not have to make any adjustments to the unit itself.
  • The batteries went out on my thermostate and I changed them to th required size 'AAA', but the thermostate is not working. How can I get it to work?

    A. Try taking the batteries out for twenty minutes, place them back in, and turn the model on.

    A. The White-Rodgers 1F78-144 is will work on either a electric or gas heating system. You will not have to make any adjustments to the unit itself.
  • Does the front cover pry off the 1F78-151 to change the batteries? How do you change the batteries?

    A. you have to gently pry off the front cover to access the batteries.
  • Have a 24 volt R7184 honeywell xformer, secondary reads 13 volts for a 24 volt spec. good or bad?

    A. The White-Rodgers 1F78-144 13v should not be used with a 24v transformer. It is rated for a 12v to 16v transformer.
  • Do you have to re-calibrate the room tempature everytime you replace the batteries & do you have to reset the set tempatures for cooling & heating as well?

    A. The White-Rodgers 1F78-144 Only reset when the thermostat when it is acting erratically. You shouldn't have to reset the set tempatures every time you replace the batteries.
  • I have a red wire connected to rh on my old thermostat, yet your instructions tell me not to disconnect the red wire between rh and rc, then what am i going to do with the red wire.

    A. The red jumper wire between RH and RC, from the factory, is used when replacing an older thermostat from a 4-wire, single transformer system. If you have a 5-wire system, you can remove the jumper and reconnect the wires to the new thermostat exactly as they were on the old thermostat, or by using the Terminal Cross Reference Chart in the installation instructions.
