Step-by-step instructions for replacing a showerhead

Replacing an old showerhead with a new fixture is incredibly easy, and can be done in a few minutes.

Tools and Materials Needed

  • New showerhead
  • Adjustable wrench
  • Teflon Tape

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Remove the old showerhead.

Clean the threads. Use a scrub brush and/or a rag to clean any residue off the threads to ensure a clean connection with the new showerhead.

Step 3

Apply a 4 to 5-inch strip of Teflon tape to the threads to ensure a watertight seal.

NOTE: If the shower has an extension arm, attach it then repeat Step 3 before attaching the new showerhead.

Attach the new showerhead.
