Single Handle Bathroom Faucet from the Fina Collection
Beware: Not Aerated!
First, on the plus side: FaucetDirect’s service is fine and leaves nothing to be desired. Their prices were reasonable and they shipped quickly. I find the website easy to use, too.
On the plus side for the faucet itself: It’s built well and lovely to look at. The chrome finish I chose is perfectly done – there is not a blemish anywhere on it. And the single handle is easy to grasp and operates very smoothly. I suspect that this faucet will last a long, long time.
But on the minus side there is a very big minus: This faucet is definitely NOT aerated, despite what the website says. The water flows like a garden hose, and because the rounded stopper is immediately below the faucet on my particular sink, the water hits the stopper hard and splashes all over the place. And the faucet opening is not circular, so there is no hope of retrofitting an aftermarket aerator to this thing.
I called Moen, and their customer service department confirmed that the faucet is indeed not aerated. As of today, however, neither Moen nor FaucetDirect has corrected their website.
I find this constant splashing so annoying that I would have returned the faucet if I hadn’t paid the plumber so much to install it.
There is one other minus, although it's not as bad: The stopper has to be pushed down directly to engage or disengage it. That means that if you have a sink filled with dirty water, you have to stick your hand in the water to open the drain. I guess the tradeoff here is that there is no lever to disturb the smooth lines of the faucet itself, but do be aware of this drawback.
