(70 CFM High) Energy Star with Snap-In Installation from the BFQ Series
It works as advertised
I needed to replace an old ceiling fan and wanted a replacement that fit the footprint of the existing unit. I also wanted to lower 4 sones to a more tolerable level of sound. I searched many options and finally chose the "Air King bfqf 70 ENERGY STAR Qualified 70 CFM".
I am very pleased with the quality of the materials, the instructions and the sound level of this exhaust fan.
After I removed my old unit I was stuck with a size issue that needed very specific measurements. The Air King unit filled that criteria and more. I wasn't sure that the "plastic" unit would be durable (it is!) and that it would be as easy to install as advertised (it was!) and that the sound would be mcuh lower (and it defintely is!)
I'm very satisfied with my choice...and look forward to replacing all of my other bathroom fans with this model, as needed.

Pay Attention to Installation Specs!
I purchased this fan to replace an existing fan that was the same size. The old fan hung between rails that were mounted to the floor joists. This fan is designed to install directly against the joists. The handyman had to "build out" the joist so as to be able to use the original opening. His opinion was that the "easy" install was harder than a standard installation. Also, he had to drop in the fan from the attic b/c the way the fan is designed, it could not be turned to fit up in the hole from the room. Fan operates nicely and is VERY quiet (at least compared to the old one!)

Installed Without Having to Go Into Attic
As advertised, installed this from below to replace an existing fan. Was a bit of a challenge but do-able in about 30 minutes. Had to cut the hole a bit larger than expected so I could get the entire housing to swing into place but the cover was large enough to hide the hole. Felt like I was forcing the unit into the bracket but it eventually snapped in.
The unit itself is hard black plastic not metal. I dont think that will make a difference in the long run,

Just finished a remodel of our Master Bathroom, and was so happy to find this small but powerful ceiling exhaust fan for this space. It replaced a much larger and louder fan that was very intrusive on the ceiling, but this Air King BFQF70 doesn't take away from everything else that is going on in the room, it just melds into the ceiling. An amazing price for such a powerful, but quiet fan. So glad to have found LightingDirect.com.

Nice product, but preferred another bulb
The product comes with a two prong "GU24" bulb which needs sufficiently turned within the base or it is not seated securely. The included bulb tint is more yellow than my preference.
The fixture installed nicely. I like the shield around the vent flap. (My prior fixture had the flap that caught on my flexible vent pipe because it did not have this feature.

We bought three of these to replace the 12-year old "builder grade" exhaust fans that were in our bathrooms. These fit very well into the existing openings and were relatively easy for my handy husband to install himself. I LOVE that they are so quiet. What an improvement!

I am a homebuilder in the mid-west and I used these fans in a new home. They are easy to install and operate quietly. Great value for the money!!!
